Dr. Amar Patnaik is a Member of Parliament representing Odisha in the Rajya Sabha since 2019. He was earlier with the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) and served as the accountant general (PAG) of Sikkim, Odisha, West Bengal and Kerala. Amar has bachelor’s degrees in physics and law and a master’s degree in finance and systems and later obtained a PhD from the Xavier University, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. In addition, he also studied for the master’s programme in public management at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore and the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Amar is the author of Institutional Change and Power Asymmetries in the Context of Rural India (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018)
