Dr. Roop Gursahani is a Consultant Neurologist at PD Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai Dr. Nagesh Simha is Medical Director, Karunashraya Hospice, Bengaluru Both Dr. Gursahani and Dr. Simha are part of the steering committee of the End of Life Care in India Taskforce (ELICIT) of the Indian Academy of Neurology, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and Indian Association of Palliative Care. Synopsis Everybody has to die someday but this is one topic that is never discussed. Yet, these conversations are essential when we are faced with the inevitable. A conscious decision can be made to avoid disproportionate or futile treatment so as to allow natural death. Making these choices in advance through a living will is not yet legally valid in India.
