Synopsis
This presentation revisits a familiar and much-loved classic from a perspective which combines the personal with the academic. While it critiques select depictions of Mahabharat’s multiple narratives in literature and the performing arts, its primary thrust remains individual and intuitive because it is at this basic level of response that both Mahabharat and Ramayan retain their hold on the popular consciousness.
